The part number E4809-770-053 is a CNC Breakout Board offered by Okuma Corporation. The breakout board works as an interface between the host PC and the motor controls, relays, and I/O devices connected with the CNC machine. The E4809-770-053 breakout board has two major functions. It translates the signals to and from the host computer that are used to operate the CNC machine. But more importantly, the core purpose of using the E4809-770-053 breakout board is to isolate the motherboard of the host PC from any electrical issues that would otherwise cause damages to it. The E4809-770-053 breakout board is positioned in between the host and other devices, inside the controller box. So, it distributes the signals, directional or stepper, to the output devices, mainly stepper or servo motors.

The E4809-77-053 breakout board by Okuma features SPI interface to make sure that the signals flow smoothly. Then there is an encoding interface to allow the user to set the algorithm according to the connected output device.
