The Bosch MDD090B-N-040-N2L-110GA2 is a digital servo motor. It is known as a servo motor because it supports digital servo feedback. The motor includes a sensor – known as a digital encoder – that measures motor parameters such as speed and position. The motor sends the encoder measurements to a connected servo controller. This real-time transmission of motor parameter measurements is known as feedback. The motor sends feedback through a dedicated feedback cable. The controller compares feedback from the motor with desired motor parameter values that are programmed by an operator. The controller uses the difference between the feedback and programmed values to make suitable adjustments to its output. The controller also supplies motor power. A separate power cable is used for power transmission. The power cable from the controller terminates on a power socket located on side A of the motor housing.
