Bosch Rexroth designed the MDD servo motors for a variety of applications. They are used to create rapid-response automation systems through their combination with Indramat digital drive controllers. The servo motors are available in gradations of torque and frame size, giving users numerous options to pick from for their desired use. They are used in robotics, textile machines, and printing and paper-processing machines.

The MDD071C-N-060-N2S-095PB2 is a synchronous servo motor model in Bosch Rexroth’s MDD series. It is a maintenance-free motor designed for high-dynamics operations by the use of rare-earth materials in its rotor’s permanent magnet. These materials give it low inertia and a favorable torque-inertia ratio. The nominal speed of this motor is 6,000 revolutions per minute, and its centering diameter is 95mm. Its theoretical maximum torque is 20.6Nm, and it is operated with a maximum current of 99.3A. It is also equipped with a blocking brake of 6.5Nm torque and digital servo feedback as its encoder system.

Thanks to its high power density, the MDD071C-N-060-N2S-095PB2 can be used for high-dynamic operations. Examples of such operations are those involving roller feeds for pressing, punching and nibbling machines, and tool changing devices. The motor is dynamically balanced in terms of balance class N based on the DIN VDE 0530 requirement. Like other motors in the series, it has a shaft sealing ring that prevents it from being penetrated by liquids. Additionally, its housing design allows it to be cooled by natural convection and surface cooling. This housing is completely sealed and has an Ingress Protection rating of IP 65. Hence, this motor is dust-proof, touch-proof, and impenetrable by sprays from water jets.
