The HDS02.2-W040N-HS59-01-FW is a special drive controller manufactured by Rexroth Indramat. The drive controller is designed to function as either a servo drive or the main drive in industrial servo systems. It offers positional control to a broad range of industrial motors such as the MKD, MHB, 1MB, and 2AD AC Motor series. The drive can be applied in machine tools, robotics, automobile systems, and textile machines. The hosing of the drive controller is produced according to the IP10 protection class; this means that the drive controller is vulnerable to the intrusion of water and dust particles, the housing, however, protect the drive's internal components from the penetration of solid materials greater than 50 millimeters.  

The HDS02.2-W040N-HS59-01-FW drive controller is designed to connect to an HVE supply module series, which provides it with all the digital signals and electrical power voltage it requires for its normal operation. The housing of the HDS02.2-W040N-HS59-01-FW drive controller is integrated with special slots numbering from U1 to U5; these slots hold the configuration cards used to adapt the drive controller to specific industrial applications. Slot U1 holds the SERCOS interface command communication module, the slots U2 to U4 holds additional plug-in modules, while the slot U5 holds the software module, which contains all the programs that determine how the drive controller carries out its operation.
