The Bosch Rexroth DDS02.1-W025-RS01-03-FW is a drive controller. The rated output is 25 Amps. Features supported by the controller include resolver-based motor feedback and SERCOS communication module. A resolver is a type of rotary electrical transformer that measures degrees of rotation. To ensure that the firmware supports those features that are required by the client application, the firmware for the drive controller has be ordered separately. The controller hardware has a modular structure. The controller basic unit has five slots that can accommodate a software module, a communication module and three plug-in modules. The software module contains the firmware and the programmed operating parameters. The contents of the software module can be copied to other software module to facilitate commission of other drives. If a drive controller fails, the software module can be easily moved to a replacement drive.

The command communication module that is installed on the DDS02.1-W025-RS01-03-FW is SERCOS. The DDS02.1-W025-RS01-03-FW is an air cooled device that requires 0 to 45 degrees Celsius ambient temperature for optimal performance. The DDS02.1-W025-RS01-03-FW can deliver derated output if the ambient temperature is between 45 and 55 degrees Celsius. Operation of the DDS02.1-W025-RS01-03-FW above 55 degrees Celsius is not permitted by Bosch. Unused DDS controllers should be stored in environments where the ambient temperature is between -30 and 85 degrees Celsius and which are free of corrosive gases and vapors. The maximum installation elevation with rated data is 1000 meters. The maximum installation elevation with derated data is 5000 meters. Operation of the DDS02.1-W025-RS01-03-FW controller at elevations above 5000 meters is not permitted by Bosch. If both the elevation and temperature exceed recommended ranges, then both load factors will need to be multiplied.
